What is plastic injection moulding

It is a process to manufacture and mould pieces in large quantities in a single run with the aim of reducing costs. As for the method, plastic injection moulding is the technique for melting plastic pellets which are then injected into the mould cavity. Once cold, the plastic solidifies to obtain the end result.

At GB inyectados we work with plastic injection moulds of different shapes, sizes, thicknesses and measurements. Furthermore, we ensure that all the steps of the process are correct. For this purpose, a member of our team supervises the filling of the plastic in the moulds and the result obtained, as well as the aesthetics and quality.

Product design and development

We design the product according to the customer’s specifications or we work from a design supplied to us by the customer.

Prototyping stage in 3D designs

We make 3D prototypes of the moulds before building the mould itself. In this way, we ensure adequate verification and supervision of the measurements, shape and other requirements.

Design and development of moulds

We build the mould taking into account the previous prototype, always guaranteeing the required quality and durability.

Thermoplastic injection

We carry out the injection for production of the product on the production line.

We also offer other methods relating to the product such as assembly, serigraphy, chrome plating, painting, pad printing, metallisation, etc.

One of the major advantages of injection moulding is that, if necessary, we can redesign your product to improve it continuously.

In the same company we design, manufacture and prepare your product. 

 

Factors to take into account in plastic injection moulding

  • Speed: melted plastic is introduced into the mould quickly to cool down and shape. Therefore, it is recommended that this process should be as fast as possible.
  • Temperature: for this method it is important to control the degrees of the plastic injection machine, both for the melting of the plastic and for the subsequent cooling inside the mould. The final shape of the piece depends on this.
  • Pressure: the weight of the mould on the material also influences the shape and finishing.
